We’re looking to recruit one or two Ministry Interns from September 2026.
This opportunity is ideal for a Christian aged 21–30 who is exploring full‑time paid ministry and wants hands‑on experience in a real local church, with proper training and real responsibility.
Interns are Non-Employed Voluntary Workers. Sometimes they are also known as “Ministry Trainees.” Each Intern is strongly encouraged to apply to the Morden Parochial Church Council for a grant to cover living costs, and accommodation is provided by the PCC free of charge. We do not expect our Interns to need to raise their own funds.
The post is subject to full enhanced DBS disclosure (for regulated activity with children) and the person appointed will need to sign the Jerusalem Declaration by GAFCON.
The Parish of Morden takes the safety of everyone within the church very seriously and expects all voluntary workers to work within the church safeguarding policy (see morden.church/safeguarding) and complete the necessary safeguarding training.
An Occupational Requirement exists for the voluntary worker to be a practising Christian in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
In order to be considered for the Ministry Intern role applicants must have the right to work/volunteer in the UK (e.g. settled status or graduate visa) for the duration of the role.
Compared to other larger more popular churches our interns here get to be much more genuinely involved. You won’t be making coffee in the background while watching ministry from a distance. You’ll be volunteering to do real gospel ministry, with support, mentoring, and room to grow — in a church that’s lively, rooted, and serious about mission.
